COOPERATION WITH THE REAL USMC

The KVH Devil Dogs z.s. association maintains a long-term cooperation with real members of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and institutions that officially represent the Marine Corps in the Czech Republic. This cooperation is based on mutual respect, common interests and the effort to realistically and dignifiedly portray the activities of the modern USMC in reenactment and presentation activities.

In the Czech Republic, the unit cooperates primarily with the United States Embassy in Prague and with members of the Marine Security Guard Detachment Prague, who provide protection for the embassy. Cooperation takes place within the framework of informal meetings, working visits and official social events. The unit regularly participates in the annual USMC Birthday Ball in Prague, which is a significant event commemorating the founding of the Marine Corps. At these events, contact is made with active and former USMC members, representatives of the American diplomatic corps and representatives of the armed forces.

The cooperation also includes informal meetings and gatherings with Marine Security Guard members, during which experiences are exchanged, training, equipment and daily service are discussed. This personal interaction contributes to a better understanding of the real functioning of the modern USMC and helps the unit maintain authenticity in its presentation and training.

The unit also maintains contacts at selected American military bases in Germany, where active members of the USMC and other branches of the US armed forces are stationed. Thanks to these contacts, the unit's leadership has access to information on modern equipment, organizational structures and training standards, which are subsequently transferred to the activities of the association.

Long-term friendly relations are also maintained with several former and active USMC members from the USA who regularly visit the Czech Republic. These individuals are personally acquainted with the unit leadership and participate in an informal exchange of experience and knowledge. Their visits represent a significant contribution to the development of the authenticity and professionalism of the unit.

Cooperation with the real USMC is not only a symbolic element, but represents a practical and long-term part of the unit's activities. It allows maintaining a high standard of presentation, ensures access to up-to-date information about the modern Marine Corps, and confirms the unit's credibility within the reenactment and military-historical communities.
